Horses... are limited to a maximum of 3 Dressage riders per day at 4th Level & below, or 2 rides per day above 4th level. Horses may enter no more then two consecutive levels (including Freestyles). Dressage Seat Equitation & Materiale classes are excluded from the maximum limit of rides per day." ** "No horse may compete in any under saddle class if it is under thirty-six months (3 years) of age. Horses competing at the Grand Prix Level must be at least 7 years of age and horses competing above Fourth Level must be at least 6 years of age; the horse's age is to be counted from January 1 of the year of birth to January 1 of the current competition year." ** At a recognized dressage show: Until the end of the calendar year in which a rider reaches the age of 18, they are considered a Junior. Riders are then eligible to show as Young Riders from the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach 16 until the end of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 21. From the beginning of the calendar year in which they reach the age of 22, an individual will compete as an Adult Amateur. For HDA & some other open shows: Riders who are 18 or older at the start of the calendar year compete as Seniors, and those who are 17 or under (or who turn 18 during the competition year) shall compete as Juniors. If you have been to a Recognized show and learned about a rule that many competitors are unaware of, please find textual evidence of it and send it along to heritage_dressage@yahoo.com to have it featured here on the HDA website! |
