| NEXT CLOSING DATE IS JUNE 11th: Organizing horse shows can be a very rewarding project, but isn't always an easy one. Secretaries are obliged to create event schedules and submit them to competitors, volunteers, and judges in a timely manner. Though show management is often lenient on when they accept entries, the rules state that entries should be in BY the closing date. Effective immediately, late entries will scheduled at the Secretary's discretion and if/when accepted, will be subject to a $10 late fee. We appologize for the inconvenience but hope that this will encourage competitors to prepare & submit their entry materials on time, and save our volunteers from any unnecessary stresses & extra work. REFUNDABLE NUMBER FEES: Just a reminder to all competitors- don't forget to return your bridle numbers to the show office when you pick up your score sheets! You can get your $2 back, on the spot! 2008 SHOW SEASON IS OFFICIALLY UNDER WAY: Barbara Archer and Bethany Rebello brought together a team of hard working volunteers, and even with a number of last-minute entries did a great job with HDA's first show of the year. Despite the raw weather, many people showed up to perform everything from Intro to Third level, as well as Freestyles, Prix Caprilli and Dressage Equitation. Please visit the COMPETITION page to check out the results. THE 2008 SEASON- IN PICTURES: Amy Cody of Studio Equus was at the May show taking photos. She is scheduled to return to HDA for the final show of the season on October 5, 2008. Share your 2008 memories by submitting snap shots of volunteers and competitors for the 2008 Video Yearbook! Email images to heritage_dressage@yahoo.com by December 1st. SPONSORSHIP & ADVERTISING: WOW! Have you seen our SPONSOR? Please join us in thanking the individuals & businesses that support the local dressage scene! Consider donating to HDA in 2008! In addition to being listed online and in print, Sponsors may submit ads to appear on the CLASSIFIEDS pages! ARENA FUNDRAISER: Thanks to the generosity of our participants through the 50-50 Raffle & Silent Auction, competitors may see a new sight in 2008. The new dressage arena from Premier Equestrian was used at our May 4th schooling show. Set-up was a breeze and the ring looked great. HDA will continue with the 50-50 Raffle at all events and the Silent Auction at the Awards Banquet in hopes of collecting money for an additional solid arena. Congratulations to the Gardner family of Marshfield for winning the 50-50 Raffle at the May schooling show! |
